February 2008
This month The Center welcomes the following new members:
Distrigas of Massachusetts LLC Distrigas of Massachusetts LLC and its parent company, SUEZ LNG NA, are leading importers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the U.S. today. Since receiving its first shipment in November 1971, Distrigas has been a driving force in the adoption of LNG throughout parts of North America. In the 1970s, for example, Distrigas employed LNG to mitigate New England’s regional energy crisis. In 2000, the company introduced LNG to Puerto Rico. Today, as the demand for LNG as a clean fuel source increases, Distrigas is building on its reputation for developing innovative, flexible solutions that readily meet the energy needs of a growing and diverse customer base. Distrigas's community relations and corporate contributions efforts focus on three giving areas: children's health and education, energy assistance, and environmental awareness and sustainability.
