World Community Grid is a global humanitarian effort that applies the unused computing power of individual and business computers to help address the world's most difficult health and societal problems. IBM has donated the hardware, software, technical services and expertise to build the infrastructure for World Community Grid and provides hosting, maintenance and support.

I’m impressed with The Center’s ability to translate information from many sources in a way that can be trusted. They have succeeded both in establishing a reputation as thought leaders, and in creating an entity that stimulates debate. It’s crucial to us that they are part of a university. That gives validity to their independent thinking. And proves they’re not in anyone’s pocket.
-Dr. Derick de Jongh, Director of Centre for Corporate Citizenship, University of South Africa
