April 2007

Futurist, sustainability consultant and commentator Andrew Zolli was named the Fidelity Fellow for Business and Society, part of a new program launched by the Center for Corporate Citizenship.

The announcement was made at The Center’s annual International Corporate Citizenship Conference following a morning keynote speech by Zolli. As a Fellow, Zolli will help The Center continue to develop new ideas and insights into the trends shaping the future of corporate citizenship.

"The Fellows program will connect business with some of the most innovative thinking in the world," said Bradley K. Googins, Executive Director of the Center. "The Fellows will be chosen for their extraordinary accomplishments and proven ability to bring originality, commitment, creativity and passion to the debate about the role of business in contemporary society."

Andrew Zolli is a leading foresight and global trends expert, studying the complex social, technological, demographic, ecological and economic forces that will shape the next 25 years. His firm, Z + Partners, has advised a number of executive leadership teams at major multinationals on innovative approaches to citizenship and sustainability. He is also the Curator of Pop!Tech, a leading thought leadership forum and social innovation network that brings together the world’s leading thinkers to discuss the future. Zolli also serves as a Fellow of the National Geographic Society, and frequently lectures, writes and appears in the media to discuss issues of social innovation and the future.

Zolli will soon to be joined by two other Fellows to be chosen from such areas as foreign policy, media, medicine, social science and the arts. During their two-year appointment, the Fellows will write, speak, and advise The Center on the changing role of business in the 21st century.

The launch of the Fellows program is supported by global financial services firm Fidelity Investments. "We are delighted to play a leading role in bringing innovative thinking to the rest of the Center’s network, and to the world at large," said Jennifer K. Brown, Executive Vice President of Communication Services at Fidelity.
