Center Announces Partnership to Promote Socially Responsible Careers

September 2007

The Center for Corporate Citizenship has announced a partnership with JustMeans, a new social media platform for corporate responsibility that provides news, jobs, and networks for people who want to create change. The site will provide hundreds of organizations and corporations with access to outstanding candidates for a range of jobs from experienced-level positions to intern opportunities.

The partnership will provide Center members with a new recruitment tool to link them with candidates committed to advancing social change through their jobs. The web site, www.justmeans.com, will also provide content and programming around employee engagement and citizenship for companies that register.

"In today's world, it matters more what we are doing 40 or 60 hours a week in our day jobs than how we are spending two or four hours volunteering on the weekends," said Martin Smith, CEO and founder of JustMeans. "The goal of JustMeans is to make it easier for people to understand the impact of their work and find careers in companies that want to have a positive impact on the world."

"More people are looking for meaning in their jobs," said Bradley Googins, executive director of the Center for Corporate Citizenship. "I believe JustMeans will soon become the leading provider of talent for companies creating value beyond the bottom line."

Each JustMeans member company will be provided a citizenship homepage to present a coherent picture of its commitment to social responsibility and the tools to network employees and post job opportunities, reports, videos, blogs, and articles.

"The most important stakeholder for any company is its own employees," said Googins. "The best companies recognize that a positive social and environmental impact will be critical in recruiting and retaining outstanding talent."

JustMeans and The Center hope to grow the platform to one million individual users and 20,000 recruiting companies within two years.
