November 2007
If you could have timely discussions with peers around corporate citizenship issues without even leaving your desk, would you participate?
If you knew The Center would organize discussions at your suggestion around key issues with other corporate managers struggling with the same challenges, would you contribute?
If you could gain valuable insights and reduce the ambiguity around corporate citizenship issues, would you take advantage of this opportunity?
If you had a vehicle to help you communicate and introduce internal stakeholders to key corporate citizenship issues, would you make use of it?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should be taking advantage of The Center's monthly member webinars.
The Center has been offering these webinars as a free service to our members since 2002. Webinars feature new research and information from experts on a specific topic, with an opportunity for members to connect and learn from one another. Prior to each webinar, participants are able to submit questions for the presenters. Q&A follows each presentation. After the webinar, a summary of the discussion is posted on our web site, including the webcast and additional resources. Members can access over 50 past reports on our website. The webcasts themselves are archived on our website for 12 months, so if you miss the live session you can catch up on your own time.
The topics chosen for webinars reflect the issues corporate practitioners are facing in their jobs. Past webinars have looked at disaster relief, the stages of corporate citizenship, doing business in China, sustainability, and employee engagement.
As always, The Center is committed to bringing in the corporate voice. Whatever the topic is, we show how it is being applied inside companies such as Nike, Dell, Dow Chemical, Sabre Holdings, Deloitte, IBM, GE, Mattel, and Intel.
We've heard our members say they are using these webinars in innovative ways. Besides individual learning, the webinars are great as conversation catalysts for teams. Folks can watch at their desks or invite their entire department to watch together and follow the event with their own discussion. Other members have used webinars as opportunities to educate managers in other departments on specific topics.
Whether you are right in Boston or thousands of miles away, webinars bring the information you need right to your desk in a timeframe that meets your needs.
Upcoming webinar topics include:
- State of Corporate Citizenship
- Engaging with the Socially Responsible Investment Community
- Critical Issues for Community Involvement Practitioners: Shifting Demographics
- Critical Issues for Community Involvement Practitioners: Climate Change
Webinar announcements and registration information are sent to members via email approximately one month prior to each event.
We welcome your input about topics; if you have issues you'd like to see covered in our webinars, please contact Colleen Olphert, The Center's Membership Director.
