2-1/2, 2, and 1-Day Programs FAQs

Where are courses held?
Course location varies. Some courses are held at various hotels around the country. In these cases the course is located in the hotel, not off-site. Other programs are held in the Carroll School of Management Lynch Conference Center located in Fulton Hall, with a complimentary shuttle bus to and from the designated hotel and the Boston College campus. Our 1-day workshops are often held at corporate locations provided by our host company.

What is the dress code?
Business casual. Jeans on Fridays are fine.

What is the course fee?
Course fee varies by program, please see the individual course descriptions. Members attend all courses at a discounted rate, if you're not sure if your company is a member check our member list.

What is included in the course fee?
The course fee includes course materials as well as breakfast and lunch (no lunch on Friday for 2-1/2 day courses). This fee does not include hotel or travel costs.

What is the payment process?
We accept online payment for course registrations. If you prefer to be invoiced, we will send you one 60 days prior to the start of the program.  (Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice.) Payment must be received before the start of the program to guarantee registration.

What if I need to postpone or cancel my program?
Attendees submitting a written cancellation 30 days or more prior to the first day of the course will receive a credit or refund. Credits must be used within the same Center fiscal year as the original course date. (The Center’s fiscal year runs June 1-May 31.) Cancellations received 15-29 days before the first day of the course will incur an administrative charge of $500. This charge will be waived if the registration is transferred to another individual from the same company. No refunds or credits will be granted for cancellations received less than 15 days before the first day of the program. However, registration may be transferred to another individual from the same company. No refunds or credits will be granted for “no-shows.”  All cancellations and transfers must be submitted in writing via e-mail to Karen O’Malley at karen.omalley.2@bc.edu.

Is there a discount for members?
Members attend all courses at a discounted rate, if you're not sure if your company is a member check our member list.

What work do I need to do before I start the course?
Typically, there are no pre-assignments for the courses. Where faculty members do want participants to review materials before the course, this is communicated well in advance.

How do I apply for or learn more about courses?
You can register for an open enrollment program on our registration page. For questions, please contact Karen O'Malley at karen.omalley.2@bc.edu or 617.552.1553.

Who teaches your courses?
Our instructors are practitioners from the field with a variety of industry and content backgrounds.

Do I have to enroll in a Certificate program to take an individual course?
No, you do not have to enroll in a Certificate program. Courses can be taken at will.

Can you help me determine which courses are best for me?
We would be more than happy to discuss your professional development any time. Please contact Karen O'Malley at karen.omalley.2@bc.edu or 617.552.1553.

Do I have to be employed by a corporation to take a course?
Yes.
