Our research is geared toward producing knowledge that is useful for corporate citizenship practitioners. From management frameworks to guides and case studies, our research products help practitioners be more effective in their work of advancing corporate citizenship in their companies. As a membership organization, our ongoing work with our member companies helps us understand the issues they face and find most pressing, as well as how lessons and findings need to be effectively communicated. Our choice of research topics is informed by being tuned into the real issues companies confront as they consider and implement corporate citizenship as an integral dimension of business practice.
The scope of our research is focused on two themes:
Managing Corporate Citizenship as a Business Function This research theme focuses on the integration of corporate citizenship into the core of business strategy and practice. It is based on our own Corporate Citizenship Management Framework, a conceptual tool to aid in the understanding of all interconnected aspects of corporate citizenship and to help companies manage these pieces as a part of business strategy.
The Evolving Role of Business in Society The Center is focused on understanding the key external drivers affecting the role of business in society and how business is responding to them. From the role of business in education to managing global stakeholder expectations, the Center is working to identify how business can contribute to finding new solutions to systemic public policy and social challenges, locally and globally.
