What would Andy Warhol think? The iconic red Campbell's soup can went pink last month, but it was all for a good cause.
The campaign was part of a "pink tag" breast cancer awareness campaign launched in Kroger stores during the month of October.
A number of products had tie-ins, but a unique Campbell's soup campaign available exclusively in Kroger stores featured limited edition cans of condensed tomato and chicken-noodle soup with pink and white labels emblazoned with a pink ribbon.
This is the first time Campbell's has replaced its traditional red and white labels soup labels, and according to an October 3 AdAge.com article, that move helped the company sell 7 million of the cans to Kroger during a period when it normally sells the chain only half that amount.
