Community Involvement Leadership Roundtable

Defining What a Changed Business Environment Means for Community Involvement

The business environment is changing dramatically. Global competition means pressure for cost efficiency has never been higher. Public confidence in government’s ability to solve social problems is weaker. Yet, society is demanding businesses take a more prominent role in solving those social problems. In this changing environment, it's clear a traditional approach to community involvement is no longer sufficient. The Community Involvement Leadership Roundtable helps business create effective community involvement strategies for a changed world.

The Community Involvement Leadership Roundtable is an ongoing forum to identify and understand critical social issues, review changing public policy, assess public expectations and prepare companies for a new and more effective community involvement.

Assembling the Leading Companies

The Roundtable brings together companies that take a strong, active role in corporate social responsibility and corporate community involvement, in particular. The Roundtable convenes formally twice annually. In addition, webinars are held for members as needed.

Participation is limited to allow members:

  • In-depth exploration of social issues
  • Full, open, and candid exchange of experiences
  • Valuable peer relationships
  • Optimal learning environment

Clarifying the Critical Issues

The Roundtable provides managers with the opportunity to better understand the key emerging societal issues facing business. Members share valuable knowledge, experience, and perspectives in an engaging and challenging learning environment.

Roundtable sessions explore key questions such as:

  • What are the most critical, emerging challenges facing the field of corporate community involvement?
  • What are the key opportunities for companies to increase their impact on these key challenges?
  • What are the key drivers of these issues for society and for business?
  • How can companies prioritize and focus Community Involvement efforts around these issues?

Developing More Effective Community Involvement Strategies

An important emphasis for the Roundtable is on taking tangible action. Members explore and assess the development of new and different community involvement strategies to achieve meaningful results both internally and externally.

Roundtable sessions explore key questions such as:

  • How are the leading companies meeting these challenges?
  • Which strategies are being used? Which deliver results?
  • What should the community involvement field do to increase its effectiveness inside the company? Outside the company?
