What can I expect to get out of the conference?

Who should attend the conference?
Participants are responsible for their company's community and business strategies and typically represent more than 250 companies, traveling from more than a dozen countries.

Please note that registration is open exclusively to corporate citizenship practitioners inside of companies. Nonprofits, consultants, media, students and academics are not typically part of our participant mix unless they are a content partner. If you have questions about your eligibility to attend the conference or would like to request special consideration, please contact our conference producer, Emily Weiner at weinere@bc.edu.

How can I contribute to the conference?
As a conference attendee, you have the opportunity to provide online links to your organization's corporate reports, social reports, corporate citizenship and community newsletters, etc. This information will be included in the attendee registration packets in a sustainable, reusable format. To reduce the environmental impact of our conference, we no longer distribute print publications at the conference. The Center depends on sponsorship to help sustain our efforts in providing you with the most compelling research and learning opportunities. If your organization would like to consider sponsoring this year's program, please contact Emily Weiner at weinere@bc.edu.

Bring a colleague. The best way to educate your organization on corporate citizenship is by attending the International Corporate Citizenship Conference. Invite members of your team, senior management and those who need to know more about driving a corporate citizenship agenda. We offer team discounts for groups of three or more. Can I get Boston College credit for attending the conference?
No. Participation in the International Corporate Citizenship Conference is not applicable toward completion of one of the Boston College Center's certificate programs. With certificates awarded by the Boston College Carroll School of Management, the Center's certificate program is the only one in this field. Click here for more information.

Do I need to make my own hotel reservations?
Yes. The Center has blocked rooms for Conference attendees at the InterContinental Boston at a special group rate of $249 per night (plus taxes). Each attendee must make his/her own hotel room reservation:

What is the suggested attire for the conference?
The stated dress code is business casual, however, we encourage all attendees to dress as they feel comfortable.

Can I bring a guest to the dinner events?
Unfortunately, due to space restrictions, we are unable to allow non-conference attendees to attend the conference functions.

REGISTRATION & SPONSORSHIP

 

How do I register for the conference?
Just visit our conference registration page and fill out the online registration form. A member of the Boston College Center staff will follow up within 2 business days upon receiving your registration. Please note that registration is open exclusively to corporate citizenship practitioners inside of companies. Nonprofits, consultants, media, and academics are not typically part of our participant mix unless they are a content partner. If you have questions about your eligibility to attend the conference or would like to request special consideration, please contact  Emily Weiner at weinere@bc.edu.

How do I change an existing registration?
All changes to registration information must be submitted in writing. If at any time you need to update a piece of information submitted on your registration form, please email registration@bc.edu. This can be done any time prior to the conference. You will receive an email confirmation of your changes.

What are the conference registration fees?
On or before January 15, 2010: $1,295 for members, $1,595 for non-members.
After January 15, 2010: $1,395 for members, $1,695 for non-members.

Are there any discounts available?
There are two types of discounts available for conference registrants: Sponsor and Team.

  • Sponsor Discount: If your organization is a conference sponsor, you are eligible for a $100 discount off the listed registration fees.
  • Team Discount: If your organization registers 3 or more participants, you are eligible for a $100 discount off the listed registration fees. All 3 persons must register at the same time to receive the discount, and all must submit individual registration forms

Am I a member of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship?

Is my company a conference sponsor?
To find out if your organization is a Conference sponsor, please visit our Conference Sponsor Page. On this page is a complete sponsor list in addition to information on how to become a sponsor for the 2010 conference.

What are the benefits of sponsoring the conference and how do I become a sponsor?
There are many benefits to becoming a sponsor for the 2010 International Corporate Citizenship Conference, including (but not limited to) promotional opportunities, complimentary registrations, and a $100 discount for all company registrations. The benefits received correspond directly to the level of sponsorship your company chooses.

My organization became a sponsor after I registered for the conference, can I still receive the discount?
Yes. Please email our conference producer, Emily Weiner, to inquire about refund or credit options.

Which Industry Group should I select?
We understand that the Industry Groups listed on the registration form are broad and often times organizations fall under more than one Industry Group. It is up to you and your organization to decide which Industry Group best reflects the type of business your organization does. Whichever Industry Group you decide to list, please ensure it is consistent throughout all registrations from your organization.

How will I receive confirmation that I am registered?
Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive an automatic email confirmation from the Boston College Center. A follow up email containing your registration details as well as payment information will be emailed shortly thereafter. If you do not receive a confirmation, please feel free to contact the Boston College Center at registration@bc.edu.

How do I cancel my registration for the conference?
Confirmed conference registrants canceling by Friday, March 12, 2010, will receive a refund less a $100 administrative fee. Confirmed registrants who cancel after this date or fail to attend will be charged the entire conference fee. Registrations are transferable to other associates within your organization but cannot be transferred to a Boston College Center certificate course or a future conference. Cancellations must be received in writing by email, fax, or post:

Is my conference registration transferable?
Yes. Registrations are transferable to other associates within your organization. Simply email registration@bc.edu to indicate that your registration will be transferred and provide your replacement colleague's complete contact information. Please note: while registration for the 2010 conference can be transferred from person to person within an organization, registration can not be transferred to a Boston College Center certificate course or future conference.

How do I pay for my conference registration?
You may choose to pay by credit card or request to receive an invoice on your registration form. Within two business days of completing your registration, you will receive follow up email communications from Boston College Center staff that include full registration information as well as payment information. Payments by credit card must be made online via our secure server and a personalized link will be emailed to you. If you opt to pay by check, you will receive an invoice by email as a PDF attachment. If you did not receive an email with payment information or require further assistance, please contact registration@bc.edu.

Who will see my contact information?
You can opt to have your contact information included in the attendee materials handed out at registration and in an attendee list emailed out two weeks prior to the conference. These lists are distributed only to conference participants and are for informational and networking purposes only. The lists will contain each attendee's name, title, company name, email address, industry group and social issue. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

Does the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship have a Privacy Policy?
Yes. The Boston College Center is committed to protecting your privacy. We pledge to use information about our customers responsibly. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. Personally identifiable information may be distributed to other conference attendees only if you "opt in" to give us this information. Attendees and members may not distribute, sell, trade, rent, or otherwise use this information for anything other than informational and networking purposes. Click here to view our Privacy Policy.
