Leading the way to learning
For 25 years, the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship has been the go-to place for management development support in corporate citizenship and community involvement.
Since our first Institute on Corporate Community Relations in 1985, we have trained more than 7,000 practitioners from more than 1,000 companies. Our certificate programs – the Certificate in Community Involvement Management and the Certificate in Community Involvement Leadership – remain the only such certificate programs in North America, if not the world.
Now as corporate citizenship takes hold as a core business function, we are diversifying our offerings to include stronger support of career-long professional development.
We recognize that professionals in this field come from diverse backgrounds with varied access to learning programs and different learning styles. We offer a mix of learning programs to meet different learning styles and to increase accessibility to learning opportunities. Regardless of where you are in your career, you will find engaging and effective learning programs designed to help you continue to move forward with resources like these:
- An innovative Community Involvement Leadership Academy composed of an intensive 4-1/2-day on-campus leadership training module and a 4-month distance and action learning module. Taking these modules together, participants will earn their Certificate in Community Involvement Leadership from the Boston College Carroll School of Management
- An increasing array of one-day seminars around timely issues and management challenges
- Webinars and an expanding catalog of e-learning programs that allow practitioners to learn without leaving the office
- For Center members, an online Member Community where practitioners can learn directly from one another with no intervention from Center staff or faculty required

“Boston College has created a curriculum, and fostered a network, that allows community involvement professionals to learn, test and share their experiences and learnings. In addition, the curriculum includes professionals with real-world hands-on experiences from instructors with experience from major corporations. The certificate program gave me a systematic way to approach a relatively new discipline with practical approaches and relevant examples.”
